The new HP2 Megamoto is the second model line High Performance and alongside the HP2 Enduro. The new Megamoto is voted on road use, particularly for those who wish the bike as an "instrument of pleasure."
HP2 is the acronym for High Performance, 2 shows the Boxer-cylinder engine, BMW Motorrad icon. Megamoto to underline the strong link with the road, where the new model is best expressed.
The term "high performance / high performance" exceeds the concept of performance sport, but refers to performance in total: 'High Performance' is the perfect synthesis of all components personality, power, handling, design and style that make a product exceptional.
Its DNA is outside the main technical characteristics and its sophistication:
Lightweight: 178 kg dry
Performance: 113 hp and 115 Nm/6.000 rpm;
Suspensions refined;
Braking system;
Materials precious;
Design unique and attractive;
Personality: lines stretched, pairing chromatic, essentiality.
The HP2 Megamoto perfectly embodies the philosophy HP, represented by a motorcycle that gives exclusive strong feelings guide and view: becoming the new point of reference between the bicilindriche sports.
Character, personality and technical solutions make it a refined product image as well as substance.
Engine and performance
The characteristic engine Boxer, an icon of BMW Motorrad, once again will surprise for its power, versatility and delivery without forgetting respect for the environment, comfort and ergonomics.
The Boxer-cylinder 1200 cc in this configuration delivers 113 hp with a torque of 115 Nm at 6,000 rpm. In this new configuration the engine triggers the HP2 Megamoto from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2''.
The terminal Akrapovic exhaust, serial and approved for road use, offers performance and lightness, as well as highlight the sports of Megamoto.
Even in this version the Chameleon Boxer engine BMW has been able to meet the needs of the new delivery model as well as fall within the parameters of emissions of Euro 3.
Chassis, suspension and braking system
The frame is steel tower and the engine is suspended, that is not playing function. Compared to the measures of the chassis of HP2 Enduro changes are: the angle of steering passing from 60.5 to 61.4, el'avancorsa which rose from 127 to 95 mm. The wheelbase remains almost unchanged.
The choice of suspensions is dictated by the quest for maximum efficiency of the bike in road and track athlete in the suspension department provides a range all'anteriore Marzocchi to stem overturned by 45 mm, adjustable compression and extension. At the rear tyre is mounted on the classic monobraccio BMW Paralever, the same work is a mono shock Ohlins adjustable compression, extension, spring preload and length wheelbase. The excursion suspensions all'anteriore is that the rear is 160 mm.
The braking system is designed to use the playground: double-disc front float 320 mm worked pliers to 4 opposed pistons. At the rear a single disc by 265 mm. The plant is braided wire for the best resistance to fading and a perfect feeling without leave.
As for the HP2 Enduro, since the use of motorcycle sports, is not available the plant ABS. The braking system ensures deceleration from sporting road. The sensitivity is highest, the pilot can therefore manage the power braking. Even under conditions of heavy use the runway as the plant does not go sottosforzo and not obvious signs of fading. On the contrary maintains a constant performance.
The mix-perfect chassis-engine suspensions makes HP2 Megamoto sharp weapon with which enjoy between curves, bends and narrow mountain roads. Suspension and chassis work perfectly to make sure the support during insertion and undergoing journey of the curve. Released ensure maximum traction to download the engine power Boxer.
Design and details
The strong personality on lines stretched, its essentiality and the choices overall design make it attractive, unique and unmistakable.
The lines of HP2 Megamoto make it attractive and sensual, fianchetti side continues towards the front wheel to emphasize aggressiveness and dynamism. The double lighthouse asymmetrical recalls that of progenitrice, the GS whose success is also due to attractive shapes, lines, unique and not imitabili that made this particular item a real "business card" of current production BMW Motorrad.
The mighty boxer engine with two cylinders projecting side makes it even more aggressive, almost "threatening" the silhouette of the bike that comes close. Guardandola side the clear choice of colours for the superstructure in contrast with the dark colors of mechanics as a whole makes it very dynamic and streamlines the overall figure.
Details carbon: the mudguard front and the upper tank are carbon. Such details as well as embellish the product underline the racing aspect of the new HP2 Megamoto.
